DAIRY CONTROL BOARD

VOTING PAPERS ISSUED. The returning officer for the Dairy Control Board elections this year has a fairly easy task on hand, compared with last year. The number of papers to be issued then was some 55,000 odd, but owing to the new regulations, and the fact that in one of the three wards the candidate has been returned unopposed, the number of voters this year has been, reduced Jo 10,700, there’ being approximately 5700 on ward No. 5 roll, and 5000 on ward nine. The papers for No. 5 ward have all been sent out, and it is expected that those for the South Island will be completed by to-night’s mail. The poll closes at noon on September 22.
