FEILDING NOTES

Feilding, July 12. The death occurred on Sunday at lief late residence, Ranfurlv Road, Feilding, of Mrs. Hannah Sarah Mac Kay, widow of the late Alexander Mac Kay, in her 83rd year. On Saturday the staff of the F eliding Post Office assembled to make a presentation to Mr S McDowall, wb° has just taken over a business in Feildiug. In asking Mr. McDowall to accept an electric table lamp, Mr. H. D. Edwards (controller of accounts) referred to the ability with which Mr. McDowall had discharged Ins duties, mentioning that in 1922 he had qu 3 * l ; fied for admission to the New Zealand Society of Accountants, upon which lie had been promoted to an executive position in the head office. Mr. Edwards regretted that Mr. McDowall’s health would not permit him to carry on m his present capacity, but hoped that Ins new venture would prove successful. Mr McDowall thanked, the donors for the kindly thoughts which had prompted the gift, adding that his associations made on the staff would long remain pleasant memories.
