SERIOUS SITUATION
MOHAMMEDANS AND HINDUS CLASH. (Rec. July 9, 8.10 p.m.) Delhi, July 8. A serious inter-commnnal situation has arisen at Pabna, 200 miles from Calcutta, following a clash between Hindus and Mohammedans over the desecration cl Hindu idols, resulting in Mohammedans looting Hindu shops and houses. The disturbance spread to outlving villages. Mohammedans surrounded the police and attempted to rescue their co-reli-gionists, whereupon the police fired, wounding some. Indian troops are going to Pabna.—Renter.
