MAGISTRATE’S COURT

POLICE AND SUMMONS CASES. Mr. .1. G. L. Hewitt. S.M., dealt with Iho police and summons eases in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Cecil Francis Jellie, a salesman (aged 30), who appeared for sentence on the charge of stealing £3 3s. from James Lynch, of the London Motor School, was placed on probation for a period of two years. Ho was also ordered to make restitution of tho stolen amount within one month. Convicted on tho charge of stealing a mattress valued at £1 25.. the property of George Monares, John Halliday, alias Holliday, was fined .£2, in default seven days’ imprisonment. An order was also made for tho mattress to be returned to its owner. SUMMONS CASES. A. W. Palmer and tho Petrolite Challenge Heaters Ltd. were both convicted and fined £3 each for occupying unregistered factories.
