COBHAM MAY CARRY ON
ANOTHER MECHANIC NEEDED
(Rec. July 8, 7.10 p.m.)
London, July 7
The Air Ministry states that it has not received any request to supply Mr. Alan Cobham with another mechanic. It would be quicker <o obtain one on the spot than to send :1 man from lingland, but if such a request was made the Air Force commander in Iraq would have to seek approval from Loudon. The manager of the de. Haviland Company states that, in reply to a message from Mr. Cobham, asking if the company would recommend him to complete the flight, they had informed him that it was desirable to carry on if he had no objection. The manager was awaiting his decision.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
