TERRACE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH

The Rev. E. Weymouth, who recently came from Port Adelaide to Masterton, occupied the pulpit of the Terrace Congregational Church yesterday morning. Mr. Weymouth, who is a preacher of considerable ability, took as nis text the words from Ezekiel: "I Myself will feed Mv flock.” The preacher suggested that under nourishment leads to ineffectiveness in life. Graphically the point wak illustrated and led the preacher to maintain that God Himself is central to nourishment. That whether in success or adversity God was the Divine provider. That He was ever sustaining men in life’s true endeavours, supplying their deepest need. Union with God was union with the Divine Shepherd, whose supreme purpose was the care of those who implicitly put their trust in Him. ■ Tt was parade Sunday for the Guides and Scouts. Dlr. With apt illustration he made it perfectly clear to his young hearers that God meant them to be “watchmen ” The characters General Hot Teiroer, Colonel Selfishness, and Captain ‘Meanness, whose subtle tactics must be guarded against, will not easily be forgotten bv those who heard this practical address. The Terrace Church troops of both Guides and Scouts show smus of rood and efficient leadership. The minister, the Rev. Ernest R. Weeks, preached to a fine congregation in the evening. The trio "Lift Fhine lives’’ was beautifully rendered by Misses Maddock, Mackenzie, and Mackie, while the choir, under the leadership of Mr. Len. Barnes, gave the anti rm “There is Jov” (Sullivan) with fine expression and tone. — (Published by arrangement.)
