TOTAL TO DATE, 137,600 The number of motor vehicles registered in New Zealand up to the end of last month totals 137,600, according to a return made available by the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. R. I'. Bollard). The North Island figures are the largest, 31,698, as against the South Island’s 52,902. Islands Compared. In the North Island the vehicles registered were as under;— Cars ~ 55,993 Trucks, etc 12,818 Cvcles 15,887 In the South Island the figures were: Cars 34.969 Trucks, etc 5.631 Cycles 12,302
