AUCKLAND WINS NEW ZEALAND CUP. By Telegraph.—Press Association Dunedin, April 11. The basketball tournament; which was continued at the exhibition sports ground yesterday, was a°ain favoured with perfect weather. 'lhs final games of the competition were played in the morning and early in the afternoon, Auckland winning the New Zealand Basketball Association Cup vith 12 points. Wellington were runners up with. 16 points. The match between the North Island and South Island t-ams. resulted in a win for the former. The games resulted as follow Court A —Auckland 47, beat Otago A I, 17; Southland 46, beat North Otago 22; Auckland 66, beat Otago A II 4; Auckland 57. beat Canterbury 18. Court B—Wellington 70, beat North Otago 2; Canterbury 21, beat Otago A I 19; Wellington 40,. beat Southland 14. The championship i>oints were as follow: Auckland, 12; Wellington, 10; Canterbury, 8; Otago A I, 4; Southland, 4; Otago A. 11, 2: North Otago, 0. The match between teams representing the. North and South Islands was won by the former by S 3 points to 19. The game was fast and was characterised by clean handling, but the North Island were the much superior team, t]ie centres being mainly responsible for the success. The gral throwing on both sides was good. Misses Riberts and Orbell, of the North Island team, were particularly sure.
