Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined. OUR GOD SHALL COME and shall not keep silence: n fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be-very tempestuous round about him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, and to the earth that He may judge His people. Gather My saints together unto Me; those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice, and the heavens shall declare His righteousness: FOR GOD IS JUDGE HIMSELF. Selah." (Psa 1, 1-6.) Verily, verily, I say unto you, HE THAT heareth My Word, and BELIEVETH ON HIM THAT SENT ME, hath everlastin- life, and SHALL NOT COME UNTO JUDGMENT, but is passed from death unto life." (John v, 24.). “God . . now all men everywhere to repent: Because He hath appointed a day, in the which HE WILL JUDGE THE WORLD IN RIGHTEOUSNESS by that man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised him . from the dead.” (Acts xvii, 30-31.)

MARANATHA V MARANATHA. "T)E ye therefore ready also; for the SON OF MAN cometh at an hour when ye think not” (St. Luke xii, 40). Before the first Coming of Our Lord there were signs of an astronomical character indicating to the Sages of Hie East tho immediate advent of a Mighty Conqueror—One Who would smash to atoms the throne of the Cesars and establish on its ruins a universal and strong monarchy. Jerusalem was regarded as the capital scat of empire. Tho heathen literature of that day amply confirms this statement. ’lho Eastern world was on the tip-toe of expectation. They were not disappointed, for He came, but they were gravely disappointed at the place and manner of His Coming. It would have been a marvel of lowliness, a wonderful stoop if Ho Who sat on t’ho Throne of the Universe, dwelling in a palace of surpassing glorv. Whose ministering servants were Cherubim, Seraphim, Angels and tho highest created intelligences; had He deigned to occupy the most magnificent palace designed by man. But no,. Ho passed by the royal residence of the king and the princely mansion of the noble, and was first witnessed in a stable bv a few humble shepherds Such was (ho strange mysterious advent of the Lord into His Own Creation. How contrary to all human thought. Once again "there are signs, astronomical, chronological, Jewish, political, industrial. social and moral. Signs which all can understand and may easily read. The whole world is stirred. The Jewish and the Mohammedan expectations have been aroused and tho Christians only hopq now for a distracted Churcii and a shipwrecked world is the coming m power of Their Lord and Saviour. The hope of the world lies in the Second Coming of Christ. The midnight cry has long ago been sounded, ‘ Behold the Bridegroom.” Then He comes in the third watch, which is now running its course. He may lie here at any moment. The third watch opens with tho midnight cry and closes with the calling awav of His people who are readv and watching; then the fourth watch opens and closes with the deliverance of Israel. The third watch is about to close. Our triumph shout is just about to break upon a sleeping Church and a restless world. May God keep our hearts bright for Our Lor<l, our lights trimmed and burning while wo wait for the fulfilment of tho GRANDEST EVENT OF THE CENTURIES—THE IMMEDIATE RETURN OF THE LORD HIMSELF!
