MINISTER TO RESIGN
BUT NOT JUST YET SIR JAMES PARR AND CABINET CHANGES / The work of the External Affairs Department, since the Right Hou. Sir Francis Bell left New. Zealand, has been carried on by the Prime Minister, the Right Hon. J. G. Coates. The pending resignation of the Hon. Sir James Parr will leave open the Ministry of Education and the Postmaster-Generalship, and these vacancies w.ill -require filling. But though Sir James Parr resigned his seat in the House of Representatives last week, his resignation as a Minister may not be in for some little time yet. Until then, there would seem to be,, no compelling need to appoint a new Minister or Ministers. Sir lames Parr stated yesterday that, with the concurrence of the Prime Mmister, he would continue as Minister, of Education and Postmaster-General for two or three weeks vet, so that he might clear up and complete important matters in hand in each Department. . “Two or three weeks” will bring midApril here. Till-then, present Ministerial arrangements are capable-of carrying on So “immediate developments in the matter of Cabinet personnel are not to be looked for.
