INFLUX OF EXCURSIONISTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association Dunedin, March 28. On Saturday there were six _ special trains to the Exhibition, lliis is a record for a single day. A night tram from Christchurch arrived early’ in the morning, and left for home .agaih at night. Another train brought nearly a thousand excursionists from the Mataura friendly societies, and nine hundred came by a third train from the Catlins district. There were also day excursions from Milton and Palmerston, ana a children's party of three hundred came from Kaitaugata. For the benefit of these visitors the management arranged for an afternoon military display, consisting of as many of the features of the torchlight tattoo as were suitable for daylight production. The historical pageant and tattoo was presented for the last time at night on the sports ground before a huge crowd. The attendance for the day was 33,182. 'The grand attendance now stands at 2,314,850. '
