EFFICIENT TRAINEES
"C” COMPANY WINS PASSMORE SHIELD. ' “Dominion” Special. Nelson, March 27. The good record established by "C” Company, Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast Regiment was maintained to-day, when, after an inspection by the examining boai-d, consisting of Colonel Thoms and Captain Stedman, they were declared the winners of the Passmore Shield for the most efficient company in the Southern Command. The sanm company won th shield last year, and vzill now compete for the Campbell statuette (which they also hold) for the most efficient cadet corps in the Dominion. The maximum points in to-days contest were 690, Nelson gaining 529 against Oamaru’s 440 and Ashburton s 381. Major Higgins is in charge of the company
