VICE-REGAL VISIT

OFFICIAL PROGRAMME “Dominion” Special. Palmerston North, March 27. His Excellency the Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergussou, arrived in Palmerston North this morning by special train from Feilding, and connected with the early Napier train. He travelled as far as Pukehou, where it was arranged that he should perform a ceremony in connection with the le Ante College. He returned to Palmerston this evening by the Napier train. . On Sunday Their Excellencies will attend the morning service at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. . On Monday the Vice-Regal visitors will be officially welcomed, the programme for Monday and Tuesday being as follows: — . , Monday.—lo a.m., arrive Old People s Home at Awapuni; 10.45 a.m., visit West End School; 11.10 a.m., visit Palmerston North Hospital; 1 p.m., attend Rotary Club 'luncheon; 3 p.m.,' civic reception, band rotunda, the Square, when address will be presented, to be followed bv an inspection of the Boy Scouts an J Scouts Committee; 4.15 p.m., afternoon tea at the residence of the Mayor; 7.30 p.m., .attend Masonic meeting. Tuesday.—Primary schools to be visited at the following hours: —lo a.m., College. Street; 10.30 a.m., Hokowhitu; 11.15 a.m., Teq-ace End; 11.45 a.m., Central; 1 p.m., attend Citizens’ Lunch Club function; 2.30 p.m., visit Girls’ High School; 3 p.m., visit Boys' High School; 3.30 p.m ( visit Convent School; 4.15 p.m.. attend Soldiers’ Club for afternoon tea; 7.30 p.m., attend Officers’ Club dinner.
