IMPERIAL WAR GRAVES
TREASURY CONTROL OF .FUND
(Rcc. March 26, 5.5 p.m.) London, March 25. Commenting on the Bill recently read the second time making the British contribution to the War Graves Commission subject to Treasury control, the “Morning Post” says: “The result is likely to be that all the Dominions will demand similar powers, with the result that the present practical, commonsense arrangement will become impossible. We do not believe that there is any Treasury design to get control of the fund. It is merely an officious attempt to get everything according to the castiron rule's of the Department, but it will certainly alarm the Dominions, which may even begin to regret their decision to submit to a common authority.' It would be better if the matter were left entirely to the Imperial Conference.” —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
