REVISION OF DUTIES Bt Telegram.—Press Association Dunedin, March 26. Complete •revision of the duties of hospital officers is involved in new bylaws passed bv the Otago Hospital Board. The scheme is that the board, through an executive officer, superintends and medically directs the hospital in the care of the patient. The university is in educational control, the Dean of the . Medical Faculty being educational director. • The correlation between the Hospital Board and the University Council is in the hands of a Joint Hospital Relations Committee, consisting of an equal number from either body. *1 his committee is charged with the duty of making recommendations on matters of common interest, particularly in regard to appointments of visiting medical staff. Arising from the by-laws it will be necessary to appoint three resident medical officers at the hospital. Ihe Hospital Board has resolved to do this, provided the university will contribute £6OO per annum towards the salaries in consideration of the fact that these resident officers will perform the duties of tutors to medical students.
