DAMAGE BY FIRE ♦ BOARDINGHOUSE DEMOLISHED. Br Tui.EGiiAi’n.—Pi.-Ess Association. Hastings, February 15. A seven-roomed house owned by Mr. C. W. Tipping, and occupied by Mrs. Lawton as a boarding-house, in the commercial centre of the town, was burnt to a shell this morning. The flames had a good hold when the fire was discovered, a,nd the occupants escaped with only what they stood up in. When the brigade arrived the flames had full charge, bnt it confined the outbreak to the building, and made a fine save of Poll's photographic studio and Lambert’s engineering shop, on either side. A fire at Norsewood on Sunday- morning destroyed J. Mathias’s draper’s shop, and also the branch offices of Knight and Dunn, solicitors, and the branch office of the Bank'of Noyv South Wales.
