SERIOUS ACCIDENT AVOIDED By Telegraph— Press Association Auckland, February 15. Mr. R. S. Kallu, when cycling at Paeroa, came from behind a vehicle travelling in tlie same direction, and rode dicectlv in the path of an approaching motor-car. Realising that a head-on-collision was imminent, and with no chance' of escape, he jumped off his bicycle and lay flat on the roadway. The driver of the car by this time had applied his brakes, and the car passed right ove-r Mr. Kallu’s prostrate form. The bystanders were amazed to see Mr. Kallu emerge with nothing worse than a bruising. His bicvcle was considerably damaged.
