DEATH ON STEAMER TAHITI

The officers of the R.M.S. Tahiti, which arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from San Francisco, via ports, reported that on the voyage from Wellington to the Californian port Mrs. Grellier, aged 23 years, a second saloon passenger, succumbed to a paralytic seizure and died two days before the ship arrived at Rarotonga. Mrs. Grellier. awakened one morning with paralysis of the legs, and within 36 hours the disease had made such progress that death ensued. The burial took place at sea, Captain Aidwell reading the burial service. The deceased’s husband had come with her from England under an engagement with the Svdney “Sun,” and having completed his term, the couple were returning Home.
