HAVILAH UREN BEATS HALL(Rec. February 14, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, February 13. At the Stadium Havilah Uren defeated Joe Hall. The latter was disqualified for delivering a low punch in the second round.—Press Assn. BRITISH LIGHT-WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. London, February 11. At the Albert Hall, in a'twenty-round bout for the British' light-weight championship, Harrv Mason (holder) defeated Ernie Rice The latter was disqualified in the fifth round for hitting low. In the same hall, Charles Smith, of Deptford, outpointed Louis Wilms, the heavy-weight champion of Belgium, in a ten-round contest.—Reuter. PAOLINO AND DIENER FIGHT A DRAW. (Rec. February 14, 5.5 p.m.l Berlin, February 13. A ten-rounds boving contest between Paolino and Franz -Diener (Germany) was drawn. Fifteen thousand spectatois watched the fight, in which Diener’s superior ring-craft counterbalanced the force of Paolino’s blows. Both men took merciless punishment unfliucliing-ly.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. TO-NIGHT’S TOURNAMENT. Patrons attending to-night’s, boxing tournament at the Town Hall are advised to peruse an announcement by the Association regarding arrangements for admission. In view of the unprecedented demand for tickets there appears very little chance of the Town Hall accommodating all those desirous of seeing Purdy and Trowern in action. The box plan will close at 4 o’clock this aftrneoon, and from this morning a further supply of early door tickets will be on sale.
