OBITUARY
MR. G. L. SUNDERLAND, R.N. Bv Tbi.egu aph i’srsGisborne, February 12. The death occurred this afternoon of Mr. George Langdale Sunderland, R.N., aged 73 years At the age of thirteen, deceased entered the Royal Navy and served for nine vears, coming to Poverty Buy in 1875, and taking up farming. Deceased was the first manager of Nelson Brothers’ Tauheru works, and later manager of the Tonioana works, Hastings'. He was a prominent member of the Hawke’s Bay Club, and for a number of years, till the time of his death, was its president.
