COLONEL BRAY’S SUCCESSOR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, February 12. The Salvation Army has announced the appointment of Lieut-Colonel Simpson, secretary for the South Australian territory, as men’s secretary for New Zealand, the position held till recently by Colonel Bray, who has retired from active service and returned to Australia. An alteration of the divisional districts, which increases the status of the Central North Division, with headquarters at Palmerston North, has also been announced. Central North comprised the districts of Poverty Bay, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatu, and Wairarapa. but by the new arrangement Wairarapa and the corps at Levin nd Foxton will be included in the Wellington Division, and what has been known as the Taranaki and King Country Division. comprising Tatimarunui, Raetihi, Taihape, Marton, and Taranaki, will be absolved by the Central North Command, making the total strength of this division twenty-four corps.
