AUSTRALIAN FIRES
GREAT LOSS OF FEED AND SHEEP SETBACK TO FORESTRY SCHEME Sydney, February 11. The hush fire at Gerogery, 15 miles north of Albury, is alleged to have been caused by sparks from a railway engine! It damaged much valuable land, and 1500 sheep were also burned to death. The fire is now burning towards Culcairn, 350 miles south of Svdney. Other fires in the Albury district (near the Victorian border) are still raging.—Press Assn. (Rec. February 11, 11.30 p.m.) Sydney, February 11. The bush fires in the Murraguldrie pine forest, in the Wagga Wagga district, caused between £40,000 and £50,000 of damage and completely disorganised the big State forestry scheme, throwing its development back five years.—Press Assn.
