GILT-EDGED INVESTMENT. FREE OF EXCHANGE. CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD DEBENTURES. In order to provide further funds for the completion of their big drainage scheme, the Christchurch Drainage Board arc offering to the investing public £200,000 worth of Debentures at the attractive rate of 5} per cent. As the board pay principal and interest free of exchange at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand within the Dominion, it means that an investment of £lOOO in these Debentures will return an assured income of £57 10s. per annum. The security is of the soundest, the Debentures and interest being secured by a special rate of one farthing in the on the capital value of an area valued at £16,566,100, and lid. in the £1 on the capital value of an area valued at £7,167,096, the total comprising practically .the whole of the City of Christchurch and a large portion of the suburbs. The Debentures are issued in the following denominations at the option of the purchaser:—£loo, £5OO, £lOOO, and application money will be received at the office of the Board, 198 Hereford Street, Christchurch, in cash, bank draft, or cheque. Copies of the board’s prospectus are obtainable free on application to the Board or from any branch of the Bank of New Zealand within the Dominion. A brokerage of 10s. per cent, will be paid to members of recognised stock exchanges, also to banks and solicitors doing business in the Dominion, on sales actually completed by them. Application forms must be forwarded to the Secretary of the Board under cover of Memorandum by the sharebtoker, banker, or solicitor, as the case ght be.—Advt.
