GROUP SETTLEMENT
AND BRITISH AIDS TO MIGRATION
The Empire Settlement Act has helped to foster an important agreement between Australia and the Mother Country, promoting immigration into and settlement in the Commonwealth. Australia’s wide spaces provide plenty of suitable land for group settlement. Questioned yesterday regarding the Empire Settlement Act, the Prime Minister said that so far group settlement had not been considered to be suitable to New Zealand conditions. Investigations were still being made.
