POSITION OF QUOTAS (Rec. January 21, 8.45 p.m.)
Washington. January 20. The State ' Department announced that seventeen countries had already exhausted the current immigration quota, wh'le fifty have balances. Australia, with a quota of 121, still has 67. New Zealand, with a quota of 100, has 33. Yap and Afghanistan are the only countries which have not sent _ immigrants to the United States during the present fiscal rear, each having a quota of 100.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
