I have so looked forward to my visit to my Maori people and their friends. It was a great pleasure coming on the Arawa ; it. reminded me of my ancestors crossing the great ocean of Kiwa in the canoe Arawa, with Tama te Kapua at their head.” So said Airs. Al. Staples Brown, better known as Maggie Papakura- the oncefamous Rotorua guide, on her return from England to-day. She will spend eight weeks in the Dominion. Great preparations have been made to welcome her at Rotorua, where a big Native meeting will be held. Airs. Staples Brown will be remembered by hundreds of ex-service men whom she entertained in 1915-16 at her beautiful nonic at Walton-on-Thames She was one of the most popular of the hostesses who threw their homes open to convalescent soldiers. She left the Dominion fourteen years ago to marry Mr, Staples grown, of Oxford, She will return to itnglalld in March, via the United States-,
