"This man is a prohibited immigrant, and I will moke an order that he be placed on board the vessel when she sails for Sydney,” said Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Magistrate’s ’Court yesterday, when Robert McGivern was charged with failing to take the oath when he’ariived in New Zealand.
Mr. McLaurin, Collector of Customs, stated that accused evidently came out as a stowaway and been smuggled asbr.ro.
On a charge of theft of a motor-car hood envelope valued at 305., the property of Thomas Angus Wingley, he was convicted and discharged, and was similarly treated for being idle and disorderly.
