A Wanganui constable who went for a dip at Castlecliff, Wanganui,, last week, left his clothes and raincoat lying on the beach. On his return he found that a young couple had monopolised his garments as a scat. Gallantry is a strong point with the man in blue, but as the' period of his off duty was fast drawing to a close, he .of necessity had to lodge an immediate claim for possession.—“ Herald.”
