ANGLO-IRAQ TREATY
TERMS MAY BE MODIFIED ON JOINING LEAGUE
Bagdad, January, 18.
During the discussion of the new Anglo-Iraq Treaty in the Iraq Parliament, the Opposition left the Chamber in protest, it is understood, against the brief period permitted for the study of of the treaty, which were onlv revealed the previous day. King Feisul, in a speech to the deputies, said that, although the treaty was nominallv for 25 years, many of its terms could be modified when Iraq was a member of the League of Nations.— Reuter.
[The treaty was approved, 58 deputies voting in favour of it, and 20 dissatisfied members declined to vote.]
