WEEK-END SOUNDS TRIP 4 The Union Steam Ship Company's new steamer Tamahine will leave Wellington at 1.15 p.m. on Saturday on her weekend excursion to Pictou and the Marlborough Sounds. The vessel will proceed direct to Pictou and is to spend the night there. There will he dancing on the upper deck during the evening. Tho Tamahine will leave Picton at 4 a.m. on Sunday for Pelorous Sound via Queen Charlotte Sound. The excursionists will bo landed by launch at Tennyson Inlet, famous for its 20,900 acres of native bush, which extends from the beach up to the top of the 3000 ft. mountains in the background. There are said to be remains of ancient Moriori pit dwellings there and an attempt will bo made to locate these. _ Other picturesque spots will be visited ,‘~ Pelorus Sound, and fishing and swimming will be indulged in. The Tamahine will arrive back at Picton at 5 o’clock on Sunday evening, and will sail an hour later for Wellington, where she is dne back ahoot B.EO JLSO.
