SOLAR ECLIPSE
OBSERVATIONS TN THE EAST INDIES. Batavia, January 14. Fifty astronomers from many countries observed the solar eclipse, and achieved mixed results, according to Hie, site Though the sky was not perfect, the leader of the British expedition at Benecolejt carried out a full programme, He saw a corona similar to that observed in India in 1809.
