The Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon. ■R F. Bollard) has returned to Wellington from a visit to Hawera.

Lord Allenby, Cominander-in-Chief of the British Forces in Palestine and Syria, during the war, with Lady Allenbv, will arrive at Auckland from Australia by the Maunganui on February !i.

Mr. F. F. Hockly, M.P. for Rotorua, is visiting Wellington. Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P. for Ohinemuri, is visiting Wellington. The Mayor (Mr. C. J. B. Norwood) returned to Wellington from the north yesterday by the Limited express. Lieut.-Colonel A. C. Parker, of Scotland, a nephew of Lord Kitchener, is at present in Dunedin. Lieut.-Colonel F. Symoti), C.M.G., D. 5.0., R.N.Z.A., has taken up his duties as Director of Artillery.’ Air. ' His visit to the Dominion is concerned, among other considerations, with wapiti shooting in the South Island, and sword fishing >u the Bav of Islands. He is accompanied'bv Mr. A. Baker, a wellknown English sportsman. It is expected that Mr. Grev will have something to "’rite about his impressions of New Zealand upon his return to the United States, and to further this subject every assistance will be given bv the authorities, «o that he will be able to select the best of the country’s fishing, sporting, and scenery resorts.
