DECLINE OFFERED AMNESTY ELECTION DISTURBANCES SEVERE MEASURES AGAINST OFFENDERS London, January 13. Coinciding with the news that the Syrian rebels have declined the offeied amnesty, the Beirut correspondent of “The Times” reports election disturbances at Aleppo, where the mob, after storming the polling stations, penetrated into the Government buildings, partially wrecking them. Eight demonstrator's were killed and a French officer and policeman wounded. A threatening situation is also developing at the Homs an Hana, where the elections are being boycotted as the result of terrorism by persons, whose action the High Commissioner, M. de Jouvenal, considers a criminal attempt to deprive the electorate of the right of voting freely. It has been decided to apply the severest measures against the offenders, including hanging and confiscation of property.—" The Times.” >
