NO-CONFIDENCE DEBATE
CONSERVATIVES OPPOSE DISSOLUTION (Rec. January 13, 9.25 p.m.) Ottawa, January 12. The debate is proceeding in the House of Commons on the no-confid-ence motion of the Conservatives. The expectation is that the vote will be reached on Thursday or Friday. Mr. Hugh Guthrie, who was SolicitorGeneral in the late Conservative Administration, announced in the House that if the Government were defeated and a Conservative Administration formed, the latter would endeavour to carry on from session to session without a dissolution. Mr. Guthrie said he was speaking with the authority of the Conservative leader, Mr. Meighen.—Renter. '
