JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
AGITATION IN MASTERTON Masterton, December 28. For over three years, since Mr. J. Caughley (Director of Education) addressed a public meeting in Masterton, there has been an agitation for the establishment of a junior high school in this district. Quite recently the matter was again vigorously sponsored by prominent educationists, but was deferred. It has now been taken up again, and at a meeting of the \\ airarapa High School Board of Governors a resolution was • unanimously carried that: “Having heard the. statement of the Minister of Education at the break-up ceremony last week, the ißoard reaffirm its previous request that a junior high school be established at Masterton, and requests that the Minister and Director of Education will, on the earliest possible occasion visit Masterton to confer with a full meeting of representatives of educational institutions in and about Masterton, and the parents of pupils with a view to reselling an agreement.”
