The New Zealand Shipping Co.’s liner Ruapehu arrived in the stream at 4.15 p.m. yesterday from London and Southampton, via Colon, Panama, Balboa, and Pitcairn Island. Pratique was granted, and the vessel berthed about 6 p.m. at the King's "Wharf. The Ruapehu loaded at London, and left there at 4 a.m. on November 19, arrived at Southampton at 7.30 p.m. on the same date, aud embarked her passengers and mail. The vessel sailed again at 2.15 p.m. on November 20. Fine weather marked the run to Colon, whore the ship arrived at 2.30 a.m. on December 5. .The vessel entered Panama Canal at 6.30 a.m. on the same date, and arrived at Balboa at 2.30 o’clodk in the afternoon. The passengers had a run ashore, and the Ruapehu resumed her voyage at 9.55 p.m. on December 5t Fine weather was experienced in the Pacific, and the vessel arrived off Pitcairn Island at 1.30 a.in. on December 17. Three boatloads of islanders came off to the ship and exchanged and bartered fruit ant] curios. The Ruapehu stood on her course again aud fine weather continued till December 23, when the ship ran into a strong westerly breeze and rough seas, which continued for two days and delayed the vessel about eight hours. Thence until arrival the weather was ideal. The Ruapehu made the trip from Southampton to Wellington in 37- days, averaging 13 knots throughout the voyage. This is a record feat by the Ruapehu, which was on her fifty-fourth voyage. The vessel called at no ports eu route. The passengers had a most enjoyable time with deck sports, a fancy dress ball, and several dances. A Christmas tree was provided for the children. Captain A. W.
