FIRE AT PIPITEA POINT

The prompt arrival of the fire brigade yesterday afternoon at the premises of the Co-operative Dairy Producers’ Freezing Company, ■ Ltd., situated at pipitea Point, prevented the spread of an outbreak which originated in the office and. for which no cause has yet been assigned. the brigade was summoned at 12.44 p.m., the office was well alight and the contents had already been badly damaged. It was quickly suppressed, however, before spreading beyond the seat of origin. The building comprises four stories and is constructed of wood, iron and concrete. No insurances are available. GORSE FIRE AT MIRAMAR. The rapid spread of fire among some gorse flax and broom in Tiotio Street, Miramar, yesterday morning, made it necessary to summon the fire brigade.
