A DESERVING CAUSE

A benefit concert for Mrs. Williamson, mother of a young man who was, an usher at the Grand Opera House, and who died recently only three months after the death of his father, will be ■held at the Grand Opera House this evening. The Rev. Fcilden Taylor, Mr. Bert Boyle, and Mr.. Thomas Farrell are co-cperating to make the entertainuient a success. Apart from the consideration of its good cause, the concert will be likely to attract a large patronage. The cream of Wellington’s amateur talent, including the Port Nicholson Silver Band, will contribute to a most varied night’s entertainment. The theatre is being placed at the disposal of the organisers free of rent, and it only remains for the public to respond/ and combine charity with pleasure for the desired end to be attained.
