UPPER HUTT BOROUGH
DATE OF POLL FIXED Some time ago an agitation was commenced with a view to combining Upper Hutt with certain contingent places and giving the whole the status of a borough under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920. According to an Order-in-Conncil published last night a poll will be taken on this proposal on Wednesday, December 9 next. Mr. L. F. Grimstone, of Upper Hutt, will act as returning officer, and prepare a roll of the persons entitled to vote. The poll will close at seven o’clock in the evening.
