YOUNG WOMAN’S DEATH
FOUND FLOATING IN THE HARBOUR. Between the late hours of Tuesday night and early yesterday morning, a voung woman met her death by drowning in Wellington Harbour. When the 7.20 a.m. train was proceeding to the city from the Hutt vesterday, a passenger noticed a body floating in the water, between Petone and Ngahanranga. The police were immediately notified, and an investigation revealed some of the unfortunate woman’s garments on the shore. The body, which had apparently been in the water but a short time, was quickly recovered. The body has been identified as that of Annie Victoria Miller, a single woman, aged 26. Deceased was seen in the city on Tuesday night, and is said to have returned to the Club House, Heretaunga, where she was employed An inquest will be held.
