lifsa Stralia, one of the most famous sopranos of the day, who lias been touring Australia quite recently, is about to tour New Zealand with a full concert company. She will give her opening concert at the Town Hall here on December 15. Charged with obtaining £350 from ths Post Office Savings Bank, the property of the Postmaster-General, at Wellington, on November 2, by means of a valueless cheque for £lOO, a labourer named William Smith (40) appeared before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. On the application of Chief-Detective Kemp _a remand was granted until November 25, when the accused, he said, would he further charged with conspiring with another to defraud.
