A DANCE PLAY

Miss Kathleen O’Brien and her pupils will give their annual dance recital, "In Old Castile,” at the Grand Opera House on Saturday evening. Artistic settings .and lighting, brilliant dancing and flocking, and original ballets and humour combined with tuneful music and singing, are features of the production. There is a delightful romance enshrouded in an atmosphere of old Spain. Mr. (diver Gillespie has written the libretto, and the gorgeous frocks are genuine replicas of old Strain. Worthy of special note is a Spanish tango by Miss Kathleen O'Brien and partner. Tho cast Includes such well-h/nawn amateurs as Mr. Lionel Inch and Miss Pauline Shotlander. A gay and joyous . carnival scene is reinforced by Allen’s jazz band. Miss Hazel Marfin will contribute an exceptionally difficult military dance, danced entirely on the toes, and Miss Ruby Fisher, and ballet will give n novel acrobatic dance, while Miss Violet Owler takes tho song. A touch of comedv is supplied by the song and dance scene from "Sallv,” in which Misses Nellie Doull, Zita Hare, and Joan Paine take the chief parts. Master .Tames Lockwood will give an American clog. A special treat is promised the audience in ten minutes with the "baby class," 45 wee mites taking part. A gorgeous butterfly scene will also be given. Altogether 100 performers take part in this production, in which dance, song and story maintain a lilting swing from beginning to end.
