Nothing succeeds like success. The success of city newspapers in New Zealand has become proverbial. ‘The Sun,” , of Christchurch, is one of the most successful. On an original paid capital of only £■ll,ooo, it has earned a net average annual profit of approximately £13,000 I ' over a period of several years. Its equipment is the most modern in New Zealand, and a large portion of it, in- . chiding a Hoe super-speed press, has been in use for less than a ■year'. ... In eleven years “The Sun” has become a business which the highest authority certifies “would probably fetch a good deal more than £lOO,OOO if sold to an outside buyer.” Its shareholders are receiving their whole consideration in fully-paid shares. The present net earnings of “The Sun" in Christchurch show 12} per cent, on the •figure of £lOO,OOO, at which it is being merged in the new company. The general public has never before ’*■- had an opportunity of investing largely in the business of city newspapers. It is safe to say that such an opportunity .will not recur. All wise investors should therefore apply for shares without delay. “The ' Sun” is owned by the public. The shareholders in the old company had an average holding of only 200 shares - apiece.
