CARGO SLING BREAKS
SHIPPING COMPANY’S FOREMAN KILLED By Telegraph-— t’-Sss Association Christchurch, November 17. Isaac Welsh, married, aged 58, a fore-, in.-iin for the Shaw-Savill Company at* l.vftclton, was killed to-night while working in the steamer Canadian Challenger. He was standing alongside No. 3 hatch when a cargo sling broke and a cask of pelts fell, striking him on the head and fracturing the base of h”' skull. Deceased was highly estec'j ' in port, especially by the waters?' who worked under him.
