EVENING MEETING. There was a good attendance at a successful athletic meeting, held by the combined Brooklyn and Olympic Clubs, at Athletic Park Inst evening. A bitterly cold southerly swept across the ground. but competition was keen throughout and good fields contested all the events. Following are the results: I’o Yards Handicap—First heat: A. At tho eouinletion of the first mile Carswell took the lead. Going around the back the strong southerly nulled the leaders up, and Flett made a claim. O" t’o last lan Carswell still led from J'laH. hut 200yds. from home Flett snrinted strongly and lust managed to get there in front of Robinson, with Carswell, who had faded away in the last dash, th’rd. 100 Yards Indies’ Race. —First heat: Alias Swinburne (scr.), 1; Aliss Hopper (11yds.). 2: Aliss Moynihan (11yds.). 3. Time, 12 l-ssec. Second heat: Miss Mantan (3yds.). 1; Miss. Wilds (6yds.), 2- Aliss Stevenson (4vds.). 3. lime, 32 l-ssec Final: Aliss Stevenson, 1; Aliss Alantan, 2; Miss Swinburne, 3. Time. 11 4-ssec. Boys* Race.—W. Killeen, 1; W. Stevenson, 2. . IK) Yards Handicap.—W. Kyift (scr.), 1- F Hobbs (2«vds.), 2: G AJontgomery (20yds.). 3. Time. 53 2-ssec. Kyle got a beautiful start and moved down tho field in great style. He took the lead 200yds. from homo and won easily bv Three S ’Mile Race.—F. B. Silver (scr.), 1; J. AlcKee (scr.), 2; A. Barclay (50yds.), 3 Time, 15min. 54 l-ssec. Silver took the lead at the mile, and maintaining a 200yds. break throughout, went on to win easily from AfcKce by that distance. E. Rose, a brother of the famous Wairarapa runner, started on the 100yds. murk, but withdrew after covering a mile. . Inter-club Relay (for teams of four men, each man to run 110yds). Varsity (Tracv. Leadbetter, Hill and Eastwood), scr. 1; Wellington Taris, Fleming, Matthews, and Kyle), 2yds.. 2; Athletic, 3. Time, 47sec. Tracy, the ’Varsity final runner, was given a good lead, which he maintained. winning easily from Kyle (Wellington). Ladies’ Relay Race.—Aliss Collins’ team (Misses Collins. Wilson, Wilds and Alallett),' 1; Aliss Porter’s team (Afisses Porter, Alantan, Moynihan, and Hop per), was the olher team to start.
