MAGISTRATE’S COURT
Mr. E. Page, S.M., presided in th? Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Russell I canard Dawson, who pleaded guilty to theft of medical appliances valued at £3, the property of Dr. A. Palmar, was convicted and placed on probation for twelve months. He was also ordered to take out a prohibition order. A remand until next week was granted in the case of Alfred John Hearl, who was charged with fighting with Thomas Ackland in Molesworth Street, and with assaulting ’ Ackland so as to cause him actual bodily harm. Bail was renewed. John Richard Rosedale Ryder, who appeared for sentence on a charge of theft of a bicycle, valued at £9, the property of Louis Haines, was convicted and ordered to coms up for sentence when called upon within twelve months. Ho was also made the subject of a prohibition order for twelve months. Charged with assaulting Robert Leonard Collings and John Wesley Tubmal, Ronald Chesely Taylor, a ship’s fireman, was fined Jfl on each charge. For wilfully damaging a suit of clothes, the property of Tubmal, ho was ordered to pay d£3 10s., the amount of the damage.
