In the Supreme Court at Gisborne, in a case in which Alfred James McGregor, sheepfarmer, was charged with the theft of sheep, or alternatively with receiving sheep knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained, the jury failed to agree, and a retrial was ordered at the November session. Charles Grant McDonald, on a charge of assault, was found not guilty and discharged. After hearing a deputation from the British Medical Association, the North Canterbury Education Gloa’rd yesterday passed a motion pledging itself to erect fresh air schools to the fullest extent permitted by the DepartmentPress Assn.
