CANTERBURY CARRIES OFF NORDON CUP WINNING ALL THREE . EVENTS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, February 25. In connection with the New Zealand championship swimming carnival, the Nordon Cup was competed for at the tepid baths to-night by Wellington and Canterbury. The trophy was won by the home team, all three events, the flying squadron race, the water polo, and the diving being won by Canterbury. The following are the detailed results :— FLYING SQUADRON, 700 yards (each man to swim 100 yards). Canterbury (H. R. Wilkinson, N. S. Batchelor, W. Keesing., W. Sutherland, V. McTigue, H. G. Smith, M. Meikle) 1 Wellington (C. Claridge, I. McHardy, V. Fletcher, C. Eversleigh, H. Winstanley, F. Mollier, W. Leask) 2 Time, 7min. 46 3-ssec. _ The home team established a lead in 'the first hundred yards and increased it with each swim, Batchelor, the last man, winning by over half a length. DIVING. Canterbury (W. Keesing, W. Sutherland, M. Meikle), 191 points .. 1 Wellington (I. McHardy, V. Fletcher, H. Winstanlev), 188 points ... 2 WATER POLO. Canterbury, 10 goals; .Wellington, 2 goals. The goals were scored for Canterbury bv Batchelor (3), Sutherland (3), McTigue (2), and Meikle (2), and for Wellington bv Claridge and McHardy. The 66 2-3 yards invitation scratch invitation race was also. swum. The final- resulted: C. Claridge (Wellington) ,tl; N. Dowsett (Wanganui), 2; J. Enwright (Auckland), 3.
