SEAMAN SENT TO GAOL
FOR REFUSING DUTY. John Sullivan (aged 31) and John Mulholland (aged 30). both articled seamen employed on the Ulooloo, appeared before Mr. W. G. Riddell in tho Magistrate’s Courts yesterday, and were charged with unlawfully disobeying a lawful command of the master of the ship. They were convicted, and sentenced to . two days’, imprisonment, the Magistrate making a proviso to tho effect that should the ship sail before the expiry of the sentence, the prisoners were to be placed on board.
