R.S.A. CONFERENCE
ELECTION OF OFFICERS. By Telegraph— Press association. Christchurch, June ID. At the Dominion conference of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association to-day, Colonel Hugh Stewart (Professor ot Classics at Canterbury College), who is president of the Christchurch R.S.A., was elected president for the ensuing year, in succession to Brigadier-General Sir Andrew Bussell, to tho accompaniment of “For has a jolly good fellow.” Other officers elected were:—Vicepresident. Mr. D. S. Smith (Wellington): hon. treasurer, Mr. J. D. Harper (Wellington); Dominion Executive, Messrs. M. A. Aldred, F. M. Cox (Auckland), H. C- Laing (Otago) J- D. Forbes (Oaniaru), W. Perry, A. T. Dunean G. W. Clinkard (Wellington), N. A. Vercoe (Nelson), G. W. Leadley (Christchurch), A. 11. McKane (Greymouth). It was decided that the next conference be held in Dunedin, and that in the future the conference not sit on a Sunday.
